Network and Security Systems Architect – Ontario, CA
In the role of Network and Security Systems Architect, you will assist in developing, implementing and working in a team tasked to integrate a program to architect networks for the support of the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of all information resources at BlinkIT Solutions customers.
Minimum Job Requirements
This role is responsible for helping the organization balance risk by aligning policies and procedures with BlinkIT Solutions business requirements. This role will be responsible for driving technical security guidance for BlinkIT Solutions, Enterprise, and Infrastructure, supporting the Product, CTO, and CISO organization across Security Initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of network and security software systems and physical hardware, load balancing, Hypervisor, virtual desktops, application clustering, networking, storage, backup, replication and disaster recovery systems. Evaluate all system, storage, and network requests to ensure best practices and cost-effectiveness; make alternative design recommendations when necessary. Produce and maintain end-to-end network, system, storage design documents, outlining system integration points and application/business dependencies. Accurately analyze the network information to create reports, graphs and maps for accounting, management, and engineering.
- Design and identify network data center virtualization components needed for implementing campus backbone network using fiber optics and switches and routers, assuring that the design supports requirements for increasing bandwidth in carrier and enterprise fiber-optic networks. Deploy WAN optimization technologies, including MLPS, Metro Ethernet, Frame relay, and ATM, with an emphasis on complex MPLS/BGP WAN design and implementation. Deploy routing technologies, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and redistribution and route selection.
- Design client-specific network security architecture based on clients’ compliance requirements and/or needs. Identify security requirements for the organization. Evaluate security requirements, assess security posture and use the information in defining the security requirements. Identify permitted communications.
- Design, implement, configure, and test complex network security architectures using network security systems and devices, including access control software, anti-virus and antimalware software, behavioral analytics software, server data loss prevention technologies, firewalls, network segmentation, and wireless security modules. Define an acceptable use policy to specify the types of network activities such as applications that are allowed and denied on the LAN and the Internet Web services. Identify the RF System impairments. Identify the firewall enforcement points. Define an overall security policy that includes network resources, access policies, and authorization controls and ensures that the firewall addresses all security requirements. Define firewall philosophy by identifying resources, applications, and services to be protected against threats from outside the organization and insider attacks.
- Design RF System architecture for wireless communication networks. Differentiate RF systems and their requirements that are crucial to the client. Define main system blocks and their functions. Identify the RF System impairments. Calculate and determine the main RF system characteristics. Design and implement the RF spectrum for both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Conduct pre- and post-wireless electronic measurements surveys to validate and improve the wireless coverage.
- Work with software developers and clients’ IT staff to design supporting systems for project architecture that effectively reflects business needs and availability requirements, and other technology parameters. Provide consultation to clients and participate in the planning and implementation of disaster recovery tasks for various servers running major in-house applications.
Job Requirements
Education, Training, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree is a must (Computer Science / Electronics and Communications Engineering or related fields).

Key Competencies
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the IT industry, security architecture or engineering roles.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
- Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
- Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.
- Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.
- Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
- Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.

This role is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction in all areas related to supporting customer needs, troubleshooting network & system outages and proactive support. Support Engineers are required to regularly review and update information for each client in the client knowledge base as well as mentor junior team members.
The following duties and responsibilities are essential for this position:
The Support Engineer will have knowledge and experience in hardware, software, and network concepts. Additionally, they have knowledge of support and computing best practices. This knowledge and experience will be used to support various applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10, Microsoft Exchange Server, Office 365, VMware, Microsoft HyperV, backup software, anti-virus, and various client-specific applications. Additionally, advanced troubleshooting of the following solutions is required: firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and VPNs.
The Support Engineer will be responsible for working with a team of support and project specialists. Working within a team is crucial to the success of this position and communication is central to providing the customer with excellent service. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining thorough documentation to streamline and standardize the customer experience.
The following duties and responsibilities are essential for this position:
- Provide onsite, remote and proactive support to customers
- Take ownership of customer service tickets and technical projects while focusing on customer experience
- Maintain reliable communication for all service tickets with the customer
- Develop improvements to procedures that document best practices when working with various hardware, software, network or troubleshooting problems
- Review customer documentation with other team members to ensure continuity of support
